Last weekend was a busy one. Saturday afternoon there was the Festival of Place held in Drummond Park, it included local food vendors, stall holders, kid’s amusements & live music.
The event was well attended and received wonderful feedback. The event was proudly organised by Cobar Shire Council with funds from NSW Government and held to bring the community together and support small businesses.
The mid-year meeting of the Western Division Councils of NSW held in Cobar. What a wonderful showcase for Cobar.
Sunday involved a meet and greet held at the museum. Without a breath of wind and a beautiful sunset the visitors were highly impressed with the museum building and in the building renovations. Many positive statements were received by the GM and myself, It goes without saying that the night would not have been possible without the assistance of the Council staff. We are lucky to have such great staff.
The two days of the conference involved the usual speeches and talks which in general were interesting and useful.
The winner from the event was Cobar and to top it off we received funding for the pump stations (some $46 million).
A reminder to keep your eye out, the postcards have been sent out to all Residents for the Community Strategic Plan and we are seeking community input to help shape the future of our Shire. I would encourage everyone ton come along to a meeting or complete an online survey.
